New Jersey Banned The Practice Of Rolling Coal

It’s an oh so controversial issue. While diesel owners might enjoy the look of rolling coal and some might even benefit from performance gains that result in the black smoke, many people just can’t stand it.

It seems as if a select few have ruined it for the majority as New Jersey has officially put into use a bill that makes “coal rolling,” as the bill calls it, punishable by law.

The short version of the bill says that, basically, it’s now illegal to modify a truck in such a way that promotes the emission of black soot.

Violators will be fined up to $5,000 for a first offense. What do you think of this new bill? Is it a necessity or is the state of New Jersey simply overreacting?
